FAQs

When is the 2012 Festival of Trees?

Opening Night is Tuesday, November 27, 2012 (by invitation only).  The Festival is open to the public from November 28 to December 1, 2012 (Wednesday - Saturday) from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. each day.

The Festival is held at the South Towne Expo Center at 9575 South State Street, Sandy, Utah.

Where does the money go that is raised during the Festival of Trees?

Every penny (100%) raised at Festival of Trees goes to help children at Primary Children's Medical Center.

One out of nine children who walk in the doors of Primary Children’s Medical Center cannot afford to pay for their medical costs.  Primary Children’s charity care program ensures that every child receives the best medical care possible, regardless of race, religion, or ability to pay.  Last year, more than $14.3 million charity care dollars were used to cover over 14,057 hospital visits at Primary Children's Medical Center.

In addition to charity care, Festival of Trees supports programs at the hospital such as music therapy.  A licensed music therapist works full-time at Primary Children’s using music for pain management, physical therapy, and emotional release.  Festival of Trees also supports research programs at the hospital for children suffering from cancer, heart disease, prematurity, and other illnesses and injuries.

How do I buy a tree at Festival of Trees?

Trees are sold through a silent auction on Opening Night, which is an "invitation only" event. If you would like to purchase a ticket to Opening Night, please call 801.662.5966.

Any tree not sold on Opening Night is available for purchase during Festival week.

How do I receive an invitation to Opening Night?

Invitations to Opening Night are a $30 contribution to Primary Children's Medical Center and admit two adults.  To purchase an invitation to Opening Night, call Primary Children's Medical Center at 801.662.5966.   You will receive a bid number for the silent auction with your invitation.

Opening Night is a dressy event.  You will be most comfortable wearing a suit and tie for men and a dress, skirt, or dress pants for women.  Please do not come in jeans or shorts.

Because important business is conducted during this special evening, babies and children under the age of 16 will not be admitted into the event.  We welcome all children to attend the Festival when it is open to the public, Wednesday through Saturday.
